A remarkable heritage
The most essential place in Bordeaux is without a doubt the Place de la Bourse. Built in the 18th century, it is today the most famous place in the city, known all over the world and adored by Bordeaux residents. Since 2006, it has hosted the “water mirror”. By a water feature, the granite floor is covered with a thin film of water allowing the mirror effect and the reflection of the Place de la Bourse. This space was able to seduce the inhabitants as the tourists in particular during hot weather.
The listed monuments are numerous in the city: the Grand Theater, the Porte Cailhau, the Saint-André cathedral. All concentrated in the city center and discoverable on foot. One of the last vestiges of the Middle Ages is La Grosse Cloche. At the time, it served as a belfry and embodied municipal authority.
